Consultant Designer (2011- present)

Created and designed digital production ready files on a project to project basis, including (but not limited to) rug designs, juvenile wall art, candles, folding screens, menus, home decor and wall art, and framed collegiate memorabilia.  I worked with several companies and their buyers in America, Asia and Europe to create products that sell in their markets.

Product Development

Created and purchased art while always keeping current with the latest trends, colors and coordinating manufacturers.  Bought prints from publishers and negotiated the best prices, minimums and shipping terms.  Created solutions to lower prepress costs.  Sourced a large format affordable digital printer changing the way new product is introduced so that thousands of dollars are saved in up front capital towards untested designs.  Used new digital solutions to introduce over 700 Exclusive publications.  Worked with artists and licensing agents to create new designs.  Digitally manipulated existing designs, altering color, creating new compositions, and rearranging patterns.  Created over 250 company owned designs through traditional painting and drawing techniques, vector based design programs, and photo manipulation.  Worked with high volume clients, manufacturers, licensing agents and artists on joint ventures too create new coordinating art for existing products.  Designed company's first ever lamp line which coordinates with existing art and other manufacturers' product, 70 designs in two styles and five sizes.

Marketing and Advertising

Responsible for all catalogs, postcards, handouts and advertisements.  Streamlined printing to make every run more economical, including a 50% savings on catalog printing.  Created a compelling new ad campaign with a new slogan keeping the company competitive with larger manufacturers.  Designed showroom layouts and a new way of price tagging the product with complete pricing that can easily be changed out with every price change.

Sales

Worked with high volume buyers to assist designing their sales floor, created displays to the store's specifications and designed product for their individual needs.  Attended trade shows as a member of the sales team, directed booth set up.  Introduced the company and its capabilities to perspective retailers and big box stores.
